At Barham Taxidermy and Processing, we specialize in professional wild game processing. Basic Cut
Proper care of your venison is crucial both before and during transport to our processing facility.
Whether you bring in a field-dressed or quartered deer, it’s essential to maintain the right temperature. Keep the quarters on ice in a cooler, and place ice bags inside the body cavity and hindquarters of a whole deer. This ensures the best quality processing, as any meat we suspect may be spoiled will be discarded. Bloodshot meat will also be removed.
Make sure to completely fill out your tag immediately at the site of your kill and keep it with the meat at all times. We are required to have the tag with the meat upon drop-off. For more details on Texas hunting regulations, please visit: Texas Hunting Regulations.
Important Handling Information
Once you're notified that your meat is ready for pickup, you will have 10 days to collect it. After that, a $5 per day storage fee will be added to your balance, unless prior arrangements have been made with the owner.
